Through his project work, he has developed a variety of computational tools, including the FREEVAL engine for the 6th edition of the Highway Capacity Manual, and extensions for reliability analysis, active traffic demand management, and planning-level work zone analysis. He has worked on a number of projects for FHWA and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), where he used his modeling and optimization background to work on algorithm implementation and analysis. I can’t turn on the radio because I want to let them sleep a bit, after all in about 7 hours we’re getting up to go to Disneyland for the whole day. My family and I are still driving to Disneyland, but it’s around 11:00 and they’ve both fallen asleep. I’m awake and aware, but watching the car lights dance around me always seems to bring on that slightly altered state. Driving in the dark always seems to put me into a mellow trance like state.
